Aquila

Altair, the brightest star in Aquila, appears near the top of this image. It is the southernmost star of the Summer Triangle. The main asterism of Aquila appears as a flattened diamond beneath Aquila. It is possible envision the asterism as a kite with Lambda marking the tail of the kite. Alshain is a binary star system that is observable in a small telescope, although the faintness of the companion makes it a challenge. Eta is a pulsating variable star with a period of about 7 days.
