Description of object: M1, the Crab Nebula, is the remnant of a super nova explosion observed in the year 1054 by Chinese astronomers. The super nova was so bright that it could be seen in full day light for 23 days. The nebula lies in Taurus near the Orion border. See below for a closer view of the nebula.

Moon Illumination: 45%

Telescope and Camera Information: Meade 12in. f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain, with an Apogee AP6E CCD Camera.
