Purpose

The Health Sciences Club is an organization for students that are interested in the healthcare field and all health sciences. We strive to provide valuable information for many different healthcare professions including, but not limited to: 

• Medical Practice
• Dentistry
• Optometry
• Physician Assistant
• Physical Therapy
• Occupational Therapy
• Podiatry
• Veterinary Medicine
• Alternative Medicine
• Chiropractic Medicine

The goal of the club is to successfully inform and help students throughout the undergraduate degree as they determine their path in the healthcare field and help them prepare for their future careers through professional panels, workshops on the application process, and many other things. Past meetings in the club have included useful tips for preparing for pre-professional programs, including hands-on experience from seniors, mock interviews, question and answer sessions with practicing professionals and classmates who have undergone the process already, information about application guidelines, and other social events, including a liquid nitrogen night. 
Active members are expected to attend at least 7 meetings and pay yearly $3 dues.

If I already know what healthcare career I want to go into. Should I still join the club?

Absolutely! We provide useful information about admission requirements for the pre-professional programs along with different opportunities to pursue throughout your undergraduate time to be the most prepared for your future professional program and career. We also provide tips for interviewing. Also, healthcare professionals often interact with other professionals throughout their career and the more exposure you have to other facets of healthcare and health sciences fields, the better informed and more successful you will be in your future career. 

I don't know what sort of healthcare career I want to pursue, am I able to join the club?

Yes! We bring in speakers each year from a variety of healthcare careers to expose students to multiple career options within the field.
