Luther College junior Phuong-Anh Hoang spent her summer at Deloitte Vietnam as a tax intern. The company Deloitte is one of the "Big Four" accounting organizations and the leading professional service network in the world and Deloitte Vietnam, was recently named by "HR Asia Magazine" as one of the best companies to work for in Asia.
Luther College junior Elisabeth do Rosário Vicente spent the summer as an intern at the Ministry of Planning and Finance in Timor-Leste in southeast Asia.
Chase Gilson, Luther College senior, spent his summer interning at Hormel Foods Corp. in Austin, Minnesota, where he worked on several projects related to brand recognition, product development and process documentation.
Gilson, the son of Sean and Jill Gilson of Adams, Minnesota, graduated from the Southland Senior High in 2015. He is majoring in management at Luther.

Discussing her career in global development and human rights, Luther College alumna Cynthia Kamikazi, class of 2005, will present "Gender, Development and International Engagement," at 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, in Valders Hall of Science, Room 362, on the Luther campus.
Luke Pulliam, Luther College senior, interned with IowaWORKS, assisting displaced workers and young adults with employment barriers. He helped them find unemployment insurance, gave assessments to pinpoint career opportunities, referred them to jobs and established plans of action for each person.
Belal Krayem, Luther college senior, majoring in accounting and data science, served as an internal audit intern for the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines Iowa during summer 2017. Krayem made such an impression that he was offered a fall internship with the FHLB Operational Risk department.
Kole Ruud, Luther senior, worked for the Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Iowa and South Dakota as a project manager intern. Establishing a communication plan for the Sales, Training, Communication, and Membership and Enrollment groups, Ruud and his team were able to implement a product his team created for future agents to use.
Thomas Mitchell, Luther College senior, completed a summer management internship in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with Iron Grate BBQ. He helped the restaurant move locations and in turn gained insight in restaurant ownership.
