Peer Coaching

CAE Peer Coaches provide coaching to Luther College students, individually and in small groups. Peer Coaches guide students toward gaining and enhancing academic skills. Additionally, peer coaches provide knowledge and serve as a model for students in the techniques, strategies, attitudes, motivations and beliefs that successful learners employ as they acquire new knowledge, solve problems, and build academic skills.

In addition, peer coaches provide holistic and individualized coaching support that aids at-risk students in developing academic skills. Students receive bi-weekly or tri-weekly guidance on goal setting, academic accountability, and success plan development with their peer coach. Peer coaches will manage a cohort of students on academic probation, utilizing motivational interviewing techniques and intrusive and motivational coaching methods, students receive support that aids them in developing self efficacy and regaining good academic standing.
