Dear Luther Friend of the Class of ’44,

I was sorry to miss seeing those of you who represented us at Homecoming ’09 but was much pleased to see the picture of you four wonderful people that Naomi sent to me. 

As things developed, it was good that I had not planned to go to Decorah that weekend because the lovely memorial service for our older sister, Ruth ’40, was held in Maryland that weekend, after her passing in late September, and we of course needed to be there.
