Dear Luther College Classmates of 1953,

Think spring!  It may in fact be spring when you receive this, but I am writing on a cold day in February.  However, I have just read a piece about Midsummer Eve in Norway, 21 June 1872, that has quickened my spirit. Laur. Larsen’s first wife, Karen Neuberg Larsen, died after a long illness (probably tuberculosis, then called consumption) on 6 February 1871, leaving behind four young children ranging in age from 4 to 14.  The following year Larsen visited his family and friends in Norway.
