Hello Luther Friends, Class of 1963!
I hope this finds you well and happy. Here in Wisconsin, winter is over, we bypassed spring and the hot weather of summer is upon us.
Fast-forward to fall when we will have an opportunity to reconnect at our 55th Class Reunion, which will be held during Luther’s 2018 Homecoming, October 26 – 28.
55 years ago, on a beautiful spring day, we walked across the stage at graduation looking to the future. Much has changed for each of us over the years, yet the bonds of friendship and of the time together have remained. This is your invitation to return and renew that bond, to share memories and stories, and updates on the lives you have created.
We will celebrate with a reception and a dinner on Saturday, October 27, in Baker Commons located in Baker Village across from the main campus. The reception will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the dinner at 6:30 p.m. Class photos will be taken at the reception and President Paula Carlson and her husband, the Rev. Dr. Thomas Schattauer, will stop by to greet us.
Cost for the reception and dinner is $30 per person and should be paid in advance when you make your reservation. Reservations can be made online at luther.edu/homecoming, or payment can be sent in with the reservation form included in this letter. Information about Homecoming events and lodging options is also included.
The online Alumni Directory found at luther.edu/alumni/directory is helpful if you want to look up a classmate. If you do not have a username and password to access the directory, call the Luther technology department at (563) 387-1000 and they will set you up with an account. It’s that easy.
Campus is beautiful! Decorah is an award-winning community, vibrant with shops restaurants, two local breweries, bike trails and, of course, Vesterheim. How about a nostalgic visit to Dunning’s Spring?
Come back! Come back to Decorah. Come back to Luther for our 55th Class Reunion.
