Hello classmates!

It’s early February as I write this, and Northeast Iowa has been in the grip of what they now call a “Polar Vortex” that has chilled us to the bone and beyond! This past week, Decorah had an air temperature of -35° F with wind chills at -60.  It brought thoughts of walking across campus during some very cold winter days when we were there. In either our freshman or sophomore year, Decorah had the lowest temperature in the lower 48 states at -43° F. Wind chill had not yet been invented!  Actually, that day was dead calm, thankfully, so wind was not a factor.
