Spring 2018 

Dear Luther Classmate, 

I am writing this letter while the Winter Olympics are on the TV in the background, with snow on the ground and cold temps here in Minnesota. It is hard to imagine that spring will come, but it always does! 

While surfing through Luther’s website and hearing some of the updates from campus, I was reminded of this time in 2000 when I had just returned from my J-term study abroad. My study abroad experience was one of my most amazing experiences from my time at Luther, and I am forever grateful for that opportunity to travel abroad and see the world from a different perspective. I often recall my other J-Term experiences on campus with a class I took in finance, and my senior year being a part of the human dissection class. All of these courses have influenced so much of my time since Luther. Did you know that Luther sent 286 students and 29 leaders for a total of 17 courses around the world for J-Term study abroad this year? How exciting to be a part of shaping these students lives by supporting Luther as an alumni.     

These experiences are just a glimpse of the part that Luther has played in where we have been, what we are doing now, and in shaping our future. I feel blessed to have been a part of a college committed to teaching students in so many ways and I hope you do too! 

The Alumni Ambassador program is another wonderful way to stay connected to Luther and make a difference for future students. You can be an Alumni Ambassador by connecting a prospective student with the Admissions Office. The student referred will receive a scholarship of $1,000 per year for four years if they attend Luther! What a difference you can make. See the website luther.edu/ambassadors for more information.
