Class of 2013 Fall 2017 Letter

Fall 2017

Dear Classmate,

Happy Fall! I always look forward to fall, because I know it means I get to return to Decorah soon for Christmas at Luther! From what I’ve seen on Facebook, it looks like Decorah is booming with several new businesses downtown. I can’t wait to go back!

A few new things to keep in mind: Luther has an updated website! Of interest, you can access all Luther-related social media by visiting www.luther.edu/connect or see the latest campus news at www.luther.edu/headlines

I hope many of you have heard about the new Alumni Ambassador Program. This is basically a series of recruitment efforts. Referring prospective students to Luther gets them a $1,000 scholarship per year, upon enrollment, for all four years! Other efforts include hosting admissions student meetings, representing Luther at college fairs, contacting prospective students, and distributing literature about Luther to local schools or communities. If you’re interested, you can visit www.luther.edu/ambassadors to find out more information.

As you know, gifts are important to Luther College. The Annual Fund now has a new name – the Luther Fund. Although the name has changed, the importance and recipients of these gifts are the same. Donations to the Luther Fund help with scholarships and financial aid, field study trips, music tours, student organizations, volunteer opportunities, college ministries, research, and all of the buildings and maintenance on campus, to name a few. Remember that when you make a gift to the Luther Fund, you are personally supporting students and their experiences at Luther. Visit givenow.luther.edu to donate today!

Happy Fall!
