Class of 2017 Spring 2018 Letter

Spring 2018

Hello Class of 2017,

It is hard to believe it has been almost a year since we all joined together in Regents on Graduation day. All of our lives have changed in the past year as we use what we learned in our four years to navigate the world outside of the Luther bubble. Whether you have started a new job, moved to a new city, or have had any other changes occur in your life, we hope you have had a smooth transition! Please keep Luther informed of these changes so we can keep our records updated.

Since our last letter, some changes and events have been happening on campus.

Did you know that Jeff Wettach ’79 is retiring? He served Luther as the head Men’s and Women’s Track coach and taught many courses. One of the courses he taught during our time at Luther was Adaptive P.E. Can you think of any fun memories or interactions with Jeff?

In the music department, Christmas at Luther was again a major success. We hope you were able to make it back to campus to see the show! Luther continues to be filled with music everyday - not only in Jenson-Noble, but everywhere on campus.

Another exciting advancement for Luther has been the expansion of the Neuroscience program. Did you know that Luther was granted $200,000 to continue to build the curriculum for this new major? This is a very exciting addition that will attract many prospective students. As a reminder, YOU can provide a scholarship for a prospective Luther student through the Alumni Ambassador program. Every student you refer to Luther will receive a $1,000 scholarship each year in YOUR name. As we are all paying off our student loans, think about how awesome it would be to have $4,000 less to pay off simply because an alumni referred you to Luther!

Whether you refer a student to Luther or decide to give back in other ways, Luther greatly appreciates your alumni support. You can make a gift today by using the attached form and the reusable envelope or by visiting givenow.luther.edu.

We hope you can make a trip back to Decorah soon!

Until next time -- Soli Deo Gloria!
