Read about our Stepped Care Model of Services. The guiding principle of stepped care is to provide services for students with the least restrictive means.

All offerings are considered outreach services, peer support groups, or a means to provide basic psychoeducation. Any student is welcome to sign up for a group that interests them.

Luther College has contracted with a program called TELUS as an extended service of Luther Counseling Service supporting our Stepped Care Model. This service provides Luther students increased access, availability, and individualized choice in receiving mental health supports at no additional cost to the student.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis you may contact the mobile crisis response team 24/7/365 by either calling 855-581-8111 or text 855-895-8398.

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency and are an imminent risk for suicide or know of someone who is at imminent risk for suicide, please call 911.

If you are on campus, you can contact Campus Safety at 563-387-2111 any time of the day. During business hours, please call (563-387-1375) Counseling Service and indicate you are experiencing an emergency. You will be asked to complete some intake paperwork to help us understand the situation and assess how urgently we should schedule your appointment. Appointments are arranged as soon as available.
