The Luther College Center for Ethics and Public Engagement (CEPE) programs create opportunities for meaningful conversations beyond the classroom. Examine your assumptions. Exchange ideas and encourage responsible action in the world.
Join a Book Group
The CEPE hosts a series of book groups throughout each academic year. Book groups are open to Luther students, staff, and faculty, as well as members of the broader local community. Books are provided to all participants at no cost.
Each book group will meet for at least one group discussion facilitated by a member of the Luther community. In some cases, CEPE book group participants have the opportunity to engage directly with the author.
Previous book selections include:

Participate in a PLEN Seminar
The Public Leadership Education Network (PLEN) is a nonpartisan organization based in Washington D.C. It focuses on preparing college women for leadership roles in public policy.
Each PLEN program provides the opportunity to explore a variety of possible careers. You’ll learn how to achieve your goals and connect with women from all over the country.

Guiding Principles of the Center
The CEPE:
- Emphasizes interdisciplinary inquiry. The CEPE engages the Luther and broader community in conversation to better understand issues of public concern.
