In 1971, Ida M. Fosso donated the eleven original art gallery posters created between 1951 and 1966 by the Galerie Maeght that make up the Olaf J. Fosso Collection. Ida's husband, Olaf John Fosso, graduated from Luther College in 1930. He was the president of the Standard Office Machine Corporation of Detroit, Michigan and died in 1970. In addition to the works donated to the Fine Arts Collection, the Fosso family donated funds to Preus Library, creating the Fosso Endowment for the purchase of books relating to American history.
