The Christian E. and Hazel S. Bale Memorial Scholarship, established by John and Mabel Bale in gratitude for and in honor of the lifetime of service of the church and in Christian higher education of Christian and Hazel Bale. The scholarship shall be awarded to junior or senior English majors who have above average academic abilities and, secondarily, need for financial assistance.

The Elmo and Margaret Gulsvig Endowed Scholarship, established by Ann (Gulsvig) '67 and John Bergstad, shall be awarded to qualified students planning to major in English with demonstrated need for financial assistance.
The Frederick W. Moen Communications Scholarship, established by the Moen and Reinhart families as a memorial to Fred '41, whose journalistic career with the Associate Press spanned 38 years. The scholarship shall be awarded to students majoring in communications or English who can show evidence of need for financial assistance.
The Martin Mohr and Mary Hull Mohr Scholarship, established by Martin and Mary Lou Mohr, shall be awarded to qualified students who can show evidence of need for financial assistance with a first preference to those junior or senior students majoring in English.
The Richard S. Moore English Scholarship, established by Richard Moore '66, shall be awarded to qualified students with demonstrated need for financial assistance, with preference given to students majoring in English with intentions to pursue a teaching career.
The Munson/Nowland Scholarship, established by Christi (Munson) Nowland '80 and Jonathan Nowland '83, shall be awarded to qualified students majoring in social work or English with a demonstrated need for financial assistance.
The Harland and Corinne Nelson Scholarship Fund, established by Harland and Corinne Nelson in gratitude for the privilege of working with Luther College students and faculty and staff colleagues, to be awarded to students majoring in English who present evidence of financial need.
The Freeman and Marie Hoffland Sampson Scholarship, established by Dorothy Sampson Roelfs, shall be awarded to exceptionally gifted students who are interested in a liberal arts education, with preference given to English majors.
The David and Anne Seltzer Scholarship, established through the estate of Anne Seltzer, expressing the gratitude of David and Anne for Luther's kindness to their daughter, Barbara '85, and the family during a time of extreme family stress. The scholarship shall be awarded to qualified students with demonstrated need for financial assistance, with preference given to English and/or mathematics majors.
The Mitchell L. West Scholarship, established by Mitchell West '77, shall be awarded to qualified students with demonstrated need for financial assistance majoring in English.
