The Behrend (Ben) Agena '63 Memorial Scholarship, established by Marguerite (Agena) '64 and Max Horn, shall be awarded to qualified junior or senior students with demonstrated need for financial assistance who intend to enroll in seminary in preparation for ordained ministry. Preference shall be given to students from Iowa.

The Charles M. and Carol M. Austin Scholarship, established by Charles '42 and Carol Austin, shall be awarded to qualified pre-seminary students who can show evidence of need for financial assistance.

The Harold and Sissel Berdal Scholarship, established by Sissel Berdal in honor and in memory of her husband, Harold. Harold was a skilled carpenter and furniture maker, and shared duties with Sissel as hard-working farmers. They both survived the hardships of the German occupation of Norway in WWII, and had a high regard for the opportunities and freedoms they enjoyed as American citizens. This scholarship is an expression of thanks to God, their Lutheran Church, and the United States of America for those freedoms and opportunities. The scholarship shall be awarded to qualified students with demonstrated need for financial assistance, with preference given to students who are preparing to study at seminary following their graduation from Luther.

The Harald and Helen Bestul Memorial Scholarship, established through the estate of Harold, class of 1925, and Helen Bestul, shall be awarded to qualified students who can show evidence of financial assistance, with preference given to senior pre-seminary students.

The Paul D. Borge Memorial Scholarship, established in memory of Paul Borge '47 by his wife Fern to be awarded to students majoring in communications or are pre-seminary students who can show evidence of need for financial assistance and who have maintained a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

The Leander B. Brakke Memorial Scholarship, established by Nora Brakke, wife of Pastor Leander Brakke '29, shall be awarded to a junior or senior pre-seminary student.

The Donald W. Brecke Scholarship, established by Marion Brecke in memory of her husband, Reverend Donald W. Brecke, class of 1955, shall be awarded to qualified students who can show evidence of need for financial assistance with a first preference for male, pre-seminary students.

The Richard and Leila Ellingson Scholarship, established by Richard '39 and Leila Ellingson, shall be awarded to qualified students who are in pre-seminary studies who can show evidence of need for financial assistance.

The Oscar E. and Irene O. Engebretson Memorial Award, established by Mrs. Irene Engebretson, her family and friends, in memory of her husband, The Rev. Oscar E. Engebretson '27, to be awarded (applicable toward educational fees of the senior year) to outstanding students who intend to enter Luther-Northwestern Theological Seminary upon graduation from Luther College.

The Victor A. Fiskerbeck Memorial Scholarship, established by his wife Violet and daughters to honor members of the Fiskerbeck family who have attended Luther College including Victor A.Fiskerbeck '28; his father Olaf K. Fiskerbeck; his daughters Elizabeth Bruening '58, and Ardis (Fiskerbeck) Christen '59; and granddaughter Kari (Christen) Richards '89. Awards shall be made to junior or senior pre-seminary students who can show evidence of need for financial assistance, or if none are qualified, to junior or senior students with financial need preparing to enter the field of education.

The Charles A. Fritz Memorial Scholarship, established by L. Eliel '40 and M. Marion Fritz in honor and memory of Charles A. Fritz '11, shall be awarded to students with demonstrated need for financial assistance enrolled in pre-seminary courses and/or participating in music organizations.

The Gerhard E. Frost Memorial Scholarship, established by Ivern (Johnson) Frost '53, in honor of the significant impact Gerhard Frost '31 had as a member of the Luther College faculty, shall be awarded to a junior or senior student interested in theological studies, with preference given to non-traditional aged students, if available, who can show a need for financial assistance.

The Torrie and Julia Lee Gesley Memorial Scholarship, established by the late Mabel Gasley in memory of her parents, shall be awarded to junior or senior students who are preparing for Christian ministry, preferably for service in the mission field at home or abroad.

The August A. Halverson Scholarship, established through the estate of August A. Halverson, shall be awarded to qualified students with demonstrated need for financial assistance who are the first member in their family to attend college. In alternate years, to students who are pre-ministry (seminary bound only), or if there are no candidates, students majoring in environmental studies. August Halverson ended his formal schooling in the 6th grade, but convinced to use his mechanical skill working for several companies which created machinery to harvest agricultural products. His business management acumen took him to Europe to build large factories which fabricated the machinery. He was described as the man who put the "international" in the International Harvester Company.

The Reverend Nils Edwin Halvorsen Scholarship, established through the estate of Marie Louise Halvorsen Gibson Olsson '41 in memory of her father, Rev. Nils Edwin Halvorsen, class of 1896, shall be awarded to qualified students with demonstrated need for financial assistance with preference given to pre-seminary students.

The Merton J. and Lucille M. Hamilton Scholarship, established through the estate of Lucille M. Hamilton in memory of Merton and Lucille of Cuba City, Wisconsin, shall be awarded to qualified students with demonstrated need for financial assistance, with preference given to students studying for the Lutheran ministry.

The Morris Hasvold Scholarship, established by Rev. Paul Hasvold '55 in memory of his father, shall be awarded to qualified students with demonstrated need for financial assistance who are preparing to attend a Lutheran seminary.

The Dorothy I. Haugen Memorial Scholarship, established through a bequest in her Last Will and Testament, to be awarded to qualified students with demonstrated need for financial assistance, with preference given to students from Trempealeau and Jackson Counties, Wisconsin, who are preparing for a career in education, medicine, nursing, ministry or social services.

The Heggen Family Scholarship, established by Rev. Alan '58 and Joanne (Hamberg) Heggen '59 in memory of Tjeran and Mae Heggen and in honor of Stella (Moklebust) Heggen, shall be awarded to qualified students with demonstrated need for financial assistance. Preference shall be given to pre-seminary students, and if none available, to minority students.

The John and Dorothea Ofstedal Helms Scholarship, established by Dorothea (Ofstedal) '49 and John Helms in memory of Rudolph '21 and Edith Ofstedal, shall be awarded to qualified students with demonstrated need for financial assistance with preference given to those students intending to prepare themselves for church-related vocations.

The Huseby-Luckner Scholarship, established by Warren '68 and Mary Luckner in honor of the lives of Robert H. Luckner, Doris (Nebeck) Luckner Huseby, and Morris A. Huseby, with thankfulness for their wisdom, love, and support. The scholarship shall be awarded to qualified students, with or without regard to financial need, pursuing a degree in mathematics or a career in the ministry.

The Alf B. and Laura J. Larson Scholarship, established through the estate of Laura Larson, shall be awarded to qualified pre-seminary students who can show evidence of need for financial assistance.

The Bernhard and Eleanor Lokensgard Scholarship, established by Marilyn (Lokensgard) '57 and Ronald Martinson '57 in loving memory of Bernhard '29 and Eleanor Lokensgard, shall be awarded to qualified students who can show evidence of need for financial assistance. Preference shall be given to upper-class students who intend to enroll in a Lutheran seminary in preparation for ordained ministry or who are majoring in music in preparation for a church music career.

The Ellen Lomen Memorial Scholarship, established by Richard and Doris Lomen in memory of Richard's mother Ellen, shall be awarded to qualified students enrolled in pre-seminary courses who can show evidence of financial need.

The Pastor Carl O. and Edith W. Nelson Endowed Scholarship, established by Rev. Carl O. Nelson in gratitude and thanksgiving for the lives of his parents and their faithful service to Christ in parish ministry. The scholarship shall be awarded to qualified students preparing for ordained ministry in the Lutheran Church who can show evidence of financial assistance.

The Dr. Martin J. Nelson Scholarship, established by Martin Nelson '16, shall be awarded to qualified students with demonstrated need for financial assistance who are anticipating careers in the Christian ministry or in education.

The G.N. Nordgaard Family Endowed Scholarship, established by Emma and Nora Nordgaard in loving gratitude to their parents, Gilbert and Berit Haugen Nordgaard, and their brothers and sisters. The scholarship shall be awarded to qualified students with demonstrated need for financial assistance, with preference given to students studying for the ministry.

The Margrethe and Rolf Preus Memorial Scholarship, established by J.C.K Preus '02 and Dikka Brandt Preus in memory of Margrethe Louise Preus and Rolf Brandt Preus, shall be awarded to qualified students, with preference given to students from First Lutheran Church of Albert Lea, Minnesota, with further preference to students in pre-theological study.

The Pribbenow Family Scholarship, established in honor of Rev. Jerome C. '57 and the late Elsie M. (Zellmer) Pribbenow by their children, Paul '78 and Abigail Pribbenow, Mark '81 and Mary Pribbenow, Dawn (Pribbenow) '84 and David Lau, Dean Pribbenow '87 and Kris Mickelson, Beth (Pribbenow) '93 and John Miller, and Brad and Melissa Pribbenow. The scholarship celebrates the impact of Luther College on the Pribbenow family. Jerome and Elsie were married in 1955 during Jerry's junior year at Luther, and Paul '78 was born in Decorah during Jerry's senior year. The scholarship shall be awarded to qualified junior or senior students, from any major, with a demonstrated need for financial assistance, who exemplifies Luther's commitment to education at the intersection of faith, learning, and service, and who is pursuing the pre-ministry program.

The Richard and Darlene Rem Scholarship, established through the estate of Richard '51 and Darlene (Helgerson) Rem '51, shall be awarded to qualified students in their sophomore year or above from the Mount Sterling Utica Lutheran Parish (Mount Sterling, Wisconsin) participating in a pre-seminary course and are preparing to enter the full-time ministry in the ELCA. If no candidates from Mount Sterling Utica Lutheran Parish, other students who are preparing to enter the full-time ministry in the ELCA shall be considered.

The Rev. Dale L. Ruosch Scholarship, established by Rev. Dale '62 and Catherine Ruosch, shall be awarded to qualified students with a demonstrated need for financial assistance, who are seeking their vocation in the ordained and non-ordained ministries. Preference shall be given to students who do not have access to the higher levels of merit-based awards.

The Pastor Roger and Marilyn Skatrud Scholarship, established by Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, in appreciation and celebration of 39 years of parish ministry, music, and servant leadership by Roger '57 and Marilyn (Sorlien) Skatrud '58. The scholarship shall be awarded to qualified students in need for financial assistance, with preference given to members of Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. If none, preference shall be given to students pursuing study leading to full-time service in the church or in music.

The Skattum Memorial Scholarship, established by the parents, fellow students, teachers, and friends of Phil Skattum '57, shall be awarded to qualified senior students going into seminary.

The Ingvald B. and Helen C. Sorensen Memorial Scholarship, established through the estate of Ingvald Sorensen '36, shall be awarded to qualified students who can show evidence of need for financial assistance, with preference given to students majoring in music or pre-seminary studies.

The L. Olav Tolo Endowed Scholarship, established by Lars Olav Tolo '30, shall be awarded to qualified junior or senior students maintaining a GPA of at least 3.0 and majoring in pre-theological studies. If none, awards shall be made based upon similar academic standards and financial need to junior or senior students.

The Joseph and Aleta Ulring Pre-Seminary Scholarship, established by Aleta Ulring, shall be awarded to qualified senior pre-seminary students, with preference given to those students attending Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa, or the Chicago Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois.
