Kristin Marie (Nolte) Sperry, 1983

Kristin Marie (Nolte) Sperry, St. Anthony Park, 60, died March 10, 2022. Kristin battled several cancer diagnoses over the years, but they never dulled her shining personality or deterred her positive spirit. She died peacefully in her favorite place in the world, her bed at home.

Kristin was born in Champaign, Ill., to Gerald M. Nolte ‘64 and Joan (Dahlquist) Nolte ‘58, who inspired her love of travel.

She was raised in St. Anthony Park and was in the last class to graduate from Murray High School in 1979. She attended Luther College before graduating from University of Wisconsin-River Falls with her degree in accounting. As a CPA for nonprofits, Kristin was known for her service to others, her sharp attention to detail and her hot pink business blazers.

Kristin was a lifelong traveler and loved spending time at the cabin on Rabbit Lake.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Esther Nolte, and Ralph Dahlquist ’28 and Hazel (Burreson) Dahlquist ‘50; her brother, William Rolf (Bill) Nolte; her aunts, Barbara and Pat Nolte; and her uncle, Russ Nolte. She is survived by her parents, Gerald Nolte ’64 and Joan (Dahlquist) Nolte ‘58; and her children, Nicole (Nikki) Sperry ‘07 and Alexander (Alex) Sperry ‘10; her uncle, Marc Dahlquist ‘62; several beloved cousins; and countless friends.

Her funeral service was held at St. Anthony Park Lutheran Church April 9. Memorials in Kristin Nolte Sperry’s name can be made to Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota (c/o Children and Family Services), the American Cancer Society Minnesota or Heartland Animal Rescue Team or H.A.R.T. in Brainerd.
