Marjorie E. “Margie” (Olson) Dehmlow, age 86, a longtime resident of West Dundee, Ill., passed away unexpectedly at her home on June 6, 2022.

Marge was born in Oconomowoc, Wis. on Feb. 5, 1936, and was the daughter of the late Halvor and Alma (nee Peterson) Olson.

Marge earned her Bachelor's degree in Education from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.

Following graduation she began her Elementary School teaching career in Boyer, Wis. After moving to Illinois she taught the remainder of her career in Barrington School District #220. On Dec. 7, 1963, she married her husband Marvin L. Dehmlow. Marv preceded Marge in death on June 27, 2003, after 39 years of marriage.

She was an avid gardener and a longtime member of the Dundee Backyard Garden Club. Marge was a lifelong Lutheran and a longtime and active member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Algonquin.

Survivors include her brother, David, and his wife, Nancy Olson; and her sister-in-law, Jean Dehmlow. Other survivors include many Anderson, Olson, and Dehmlow nieces, nephews, grand and great-nieces and nephews; as well as many good and faithful friends. In addition to her parents, and her beloved husband, Margie was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Olson and her sister, Mildred J. (Olson) Anderson ‘55.

Family and friends gathered for Funeral Services on June 17, 2022, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 300 Jefferson Street in Algonquin. Burial followed at the River Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in West Dundee. Memorials may be made to either the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Algonquin or the St. John's Lutheran Church, W344N6990 Stone Bank Rd., Oconomowoc, WI 53066.
