Application Information

Program eligibility:

We are looking for students who are interested in gaining a better understanding of the Earth system, whether as part of an Earth science or geology major or as a complement to a major in another science or in environmental studies. The prerequisite for the program is one lab science course; a course in Earth or environmental science is recommended but not required. Application decisions will be made based on academic record, personal essay and letters of recommendation, with consideration of the applicant's academic potential and ability to live and work collaboratively in a close learning community. Preference will be given to qualified Luther students for up to 6 program spots.

In addition to the online application, you will also need to review and sign the forms found in the Related Documents section.

Luther students should submit the Academic Planning Form and Student Agreement and Liability Waiver. Luther students do not need to fill out the Campus Approval Form.

Non-Luther students will need to submit the Campus Approval Form and Student Agreement and Liability Waiver. Non-Luther students do not need to fill out the Academic Planning Form.

Return signed copies of all of these forms, plus an unofficial transcript, to the Luther College Center for Global Learning by uploading forms to the online application system, by email, or via the mail (Center for Global Learning, Luther College, 700 College Drive, Decorah, IA 52101).
