Home Sweet Home

After over 30 hours of traveling, all of our students have safely made it back to the states.

Our journey home was a long one. Starting with an hour ride to the airport in Phnom Penh, the Luther class sad goodbye to their guide and friend, Giang. It was goodbye Cambodia and hello Eva Air. The first flight was only about 4 hours from Phnom Penh to Taipei, Taiwan. The students were then able to get off the plane and stretch out their legs.  The second flight was much longer. The students had a 15 hour flight from Taiwan to Chicago.  Luckily, due to open seats, the students were able to spread out a little more and walk around the cabin. The ride went pretty smooth. Everyone made it through security and customs quickly. Some of our students met family or had a connecting flight, others boarded the Luther bus with the class that went to Greece and drove the 6 hours back to Luther. At 2:30am, our journey came to an end and we said our goodbyes.

It has been a long adventure in Cambodia, when we won't forget. From killing fields to climbing mountains to a monkey attacking a professor (no one was harmed, but we were all a bit wary of monkeys afterwards), we have memories that will keep Cambodia fresh in our minds. Some students have even expressed a desire to go back someday and revisit some of our sites or explore other areas that we didn't get to. No matter what, Cambodia will be calling us for another adventure. For now, we are all glad to be home.
