We Are In The Windy City

As soon as we arrived at the airport, we were able to pass smoothly through customs. We were then introduced to our program coordinator, Clint Spotts, and Executive director, Lane Chesebro. Then they drove us to the Chicago Getaway Hostel, 616 W Arlington Pl. Once we arrived at the Hostel, we had a short meeting with them and at the same time ate Chicago style pizza. It was very delicious.

Later that same night, we were invited by some of the residents of that hall to their comedy show. It was a lot of fun. Some of the jokes weren't funny, but most of them were.

Tomorrow we will be visiting the Harold Washington Library, Irma C. Ruiz Elementary School, and the Center on Halsted. At night we will eat at an Ethiopian restaurant and then attend the KLEO Center which is like an open mic where young people of the surrounding communities will be performing spoken word, poetry, and music.

We are both happy and sad to be back. Happy because we are home, but sad because we are back to snow. We have so much to talk about this Jterm class, so if you see us around campus or anywhere, ask us about our experience. We had lots of funny moments to share as well!
