After an early morning flight, we have finally made it to Roatan! We all met in Chicago last night and spent some time eating pizza and getting to know each other before going to bed. A few short hours later, we were setting out on our two segment flight journey to Honduras!

After spending the last few days researching and writing about topics that will be relevant to our internships on the Island, everyone was eager to start our adventure!

Once we arrived, we made a quick grocery run and got to see part of the island on our way to our home for the next month. The warm weather and beautiful green landscape is a huge and a welcome change from the snowy weather we left behind this morning.

We had a delicious dinner of fruit and fish tacos, followed by an opportunity to get together and share some of our initial thoughts and plans for the coming days.

We can’t wait to get started!
