Room Keys: Faculty Carrels, Group Study, Individual Study

  • Faculty carrel keys:
    • A list of emeriti (retired professors) with permanent carrels (offices) is taped above the Key Board. Just hand the key to the faculty member when they request it.
    • Room 105 is available for emeriti checkout for 4-hours at a time. We do not hold their IDs, but DO check the key out to them. The keys are stored on the keyboard. Please return the key to the keyboard as soon as it is checked back in. Do NOT leave in the key drawer at the Reserve Desk.
    • If a faculty member has locked their key in their carrel, grab the appropriate green paddle key and go with them to open their door. Do NOT hand them this second key.
  • Group study rooms:
    • 2-hour checkout; $.25/hour fine applicable for late return;
    • checked out on a first-come, first-served basis, no “reservations” allowed;
    • Rooms 209 and 210 are equipped with whiteboards; the other group study rooms have chalkboards;
    • CHECKOUT PROCEDURE: scan patron ID, scan key barcode, tell patron exact time when key is due, place ID in appropriate envelope and place the envelope in front part of drawer.
    • To see when a room is due, pull out the ID from the appropriate envelope and scan the patron's barcode. Look under what they have checked out to see when the key is due.
