KATIE Upgrade: August 2015

If you’ve ever gotten a notification from Windows or iTunes, you probably know that software needs to update on a regular basis, and the same is true of KATIE. In order for information in KATIE to remain secure, and to provide improved functionality, LIS will update KATIE in August. While all of your data will remain intact, and the look and feel of new version will largely remain the same, there are some differences with this update. Some of the improvements include:

  • Major revisions to the gradebook, which will make building and maintaining your gradebook much easier
  • Enhancements to quizzes which will streamline the process of adding and managing questions
  • Design enhancements in forums that improve the ability to navigate between discussion threads
  • The ability to attach files to assignments
  • Entries in text editor will autosave

(For further details on some of these improvements, please see this blog post.)

To help faculty prepare for the new version of KATIE, the KATIE Support Team will be hosting faculty workshops in May and August and will offer additional training in August and September. Additional details will be posted in DeaNotes, Tuesday, and the LIS blog.
