GARY R. AMBROSE, age 63, of Granite City, Ill., passed away on August 1, 2013, from complications of Melanoma cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty; son, Kelly; granddaughters: Lacy and Haley; brothers: Gregory (Bonnie) and Jeffrey (Barb); cousins: Ed, Jim, and Debbie; and many nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his father and mother: Leonard and Betty; uncle and aunt: Ed and Mary. Gary grew up in Chicago (Roseland) neighborhood. He graduated from Fenger High School in 1967 and received his bachelor’s degree from Luther College, Decorah, Iowa in 1971. After college, Gary worked for Nalco Chemical for 17 years, which brought him to St. Louis, Mo., where he met his wife Betty and became his home. He then worked for Ferguson-Florissant School District for the next 15 years. Gary loved life and sports. He stayed a loyal Chicago Bears fan. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A memorial service was held September 7, 2013 in Granite City, Ill.
