Alvina Rebecca "Becky" Conradson, 1942

ALVINA REBECCA “BECKY” CONRADSON, age 92, suffered a stroke and went to her Lord on April 16, 2013 in Opelika, Ala.  She had survived her husband, Rev. Willard L. “Connie” Conradson ’46 by 22 years.

She is survived by three children: Michael R. Conradson ’67 of Santa Ana, Calif., Dr. Eric P. Conradson ’70 of Brookfield, Wis., and Lois A. (CONRADSON) Bruder ‘70, of Phoenix, Ariz., five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Becky was born June 30, 1920, in Rio, Wis., to Sievert and Nettie Fosmark. Becky was the youngest of 10 siblings. She graduated from Luther College, Decorah, Iowa, in 1942 and married that same year. In 1943, while Connie was fighting in World War II, Becky obtained a Master’s degree in Library Science from the University of Michigan.

Following the end of the war, Connie finished Luther College and then Luther Seminary, St. Paul, Minn. Becky was a faithful Pastor’s wife throughout their ministry and marriage: in Fairfax, Minn., Fairmont, Minn., USAF Chaplain, Anaheim, Calif., and Salem, Ala.

Becky was confirmed at Spring Prairie Lutheran Church near Madison, Wis. The confirmation service sermon text was Jude v. 3: “While I’ve been very eager to write you, dear friends, about the salvation we share, it is now necessary that I write you and urge you to fight (contend) for the faith once entrusted to the holy people.” She lived that text - constantly reading, studying and teaching.
