Global Engagement Requirement

The Global Engagement (GE) requirement helps you build the capacity to understand and value cultural practices and perspectives. Global Engagement courses allow you to step outside of your own experience and inhabit different ways of thinking about and experiencing the world.

The GE requirement consists of 3 courses; Modern Languages courses are an excellent option for fulfilling the GE requirement.

  • 3 courses in one language
    • FREN 101, 102, GER 230 (French for Social Change)
    • GER 101, 102, GER 210 (German in Action)
  • 2 courses in one language + study away
    • GER 101, Münster Semester, GER 340 (German Play)
    • SPAN 201, 302, SPAN 340 Language and Culture in Spain or SPAN 341 Spanish for Medical Professionals
  • 2 courses in one language + a Foreign Culture (FCUL) course
    • CHIN 101, 102, and FCUL 246 Chinese Cinema
    • NORST 101, 102 +  FCUL 339 Nordic Fiction and Food
