Concert Band International Tours

Concert Band is one of four music ensembles at Luther College that tours internationally, traveling abroad every four years. The Concert Band is one of the nation's oldest touring organizations, with their first tour in the spring of 1886, thus affectionately earning their title as the "World Famous Luther College Concert Band."

Music ensemble tours provide an enriching and immersive opportunity for students to learn actively, live purposefully, and lead courageously through the sharing of music and local culture.  Ensemble tours also promote the musical excellence of the Luther College Music Department to audiences around the globe.

Concert Band toured Spain in 2017.  The itinerary included performances in Madrid, Valencia, Seville, and Granada with additional travel to Toledo, Cordoba, Ronda, Puerto de Santa Maria and more.  Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 2021 Concert Band tour to Spain, France, and Portugal was canceled.  The next international touring opportunity for Concert Band will occur in 2025.
