2022 Dorian Vocal Festival 2.0 Schedule

8:30-9:45  Registration (Upstairs Lobby, Center for Faith and Life)

1) Schools arriving from a distance of ≤75 miles are asked to arrive as early as possible in the registration window. Only directors or parent chaperones go through the registration line. 
2) All directors, chaperones, and students will show their COVID-19 vaccination card or proof of negative test result at this time in the CFL Recital Hall. 
3) Festival fees must be turned in at this time. Meal tickets for the Cafeteria may be pre-purchased at this time in the main floor lobby of the CFL. They may be purchased for specific meals, but no refunds will be given for unused tickets.

9:00 am  Scholarship auditions- Voice Faculty studios Jensen

9:30
  Seating of the Festival Choir (Main Hall, Center for Faith and Life)

10:00-11:30
  Festival Choir Rehearsal #1 with Andrew Last (Main Hall, CFL)

Promptness and full attendance are required. Students should put their coats in the designated areas where one enters the main hall.

10:30- 11:15  Director's Reading Session
Dr. Mark Potvin, Luther College

11:30- 1:00  Lunch.  Student cafeteria ($10.00) or Oneota Café (Union, or your choice off-campus)

1:00-1:30  Sectionals: Soprano/Alto with Adrianna Tam (Main Hall, Center for Faith and Life) and
Tenor/Bass
with Mark Potvin (Noble Recital Hall, Jenson-Noble Hall of Music)

1:30-1:45  Rehearsal Break. Transition back to Main Hall of the CFL.

1:45-2:15  Performance by Luther College first-year choirs: Aurora (SSAA: Adrianna Tam, conductor) and Norskkor (TTBB: Mark Potvin, conductor)

2:15-3:45  Festival Choir Rehearsal #2 with Andrew Last (Main Hall, CFL) 

2:45-3:30
Directors’ Session.
Jing Ling Tam, Univ. of Texas Arlington. (Noble Recital Hall, Jenson-Noble)

3:45-4:00  Rehearsal Break

4:00-5:00  Festival Choir Rehearsal #3 (Final) with Andrew Last (Main Hall, CFL)

5:00-6:45  Dinner Break & Change Clothes for Concert Student cafeteria ($10.00) or Marty’s Café (Downstairs of the Union, or your choice off-campus)

Festival students should change into concert dress for the Grand Concert. Bathrooms are located on the first and second floors of the CFL and the first and second floors of the Union. We encourage participants to consider wearing their concert attire all day to alleviate time and space constraints during this period.

Concert Dress Option A: A collared shirt with nice dress pants. Ties are encouraged.
Concert Dress Option B:
A nice blouse with dress pants/skirt or a dress. White and Black are not a requirement for concert clothes. 

6:30  Doors Open for the Grand Concert. (Main Hall, Center for Faith and Life)

6:45  Choir Seated. Festival participants should be in their seats at this time in preparation for the Grand Concert. (Main Hall, Center for Faith and Life)

7:00  Dorian Vocal Festival Grand Concert.  Performance includes the Dorian Festival Choir and the Luther College Nordic Choir. (Main Hall, Center for Faith and Life)
