Dear Luther College Colleagues:
On behalf of the presidential search committee, we want to update you regarding our shared efforts to identify the college’s next president.
First, our sincere thanks to each of you who participated in conversations with our search consultants, Julie Tea and Kenna Boyd of Storbeck/Pimentel & Associates, over the past several weeks. Your thoughtful comments provided the basis for our presidential search prospectus, a valuable tool that will be used to solicit nominations and recruit candidates nationally. We invite you to review the search prospectus which is available on Luther's presidential search website and at the Storbeck/Pimentel & Associates' website.
Our committee understands a successful search requires active engagement with and by members from across the Luther community. As you review the search prospectus, please pay particular attention to the most highly desired attributes we are seeking in Luther’s next president. We urge you to recommend people you believe could serve effectively in this critically important position, as well as others you think might help identify potential candidates. Please forward the names of these individuals to Julie Tea and Kenna Boyd at LutherPresident@
Over the next several weeks, we will generate a national candidate pool through the focused work of our search partners at Storbeck/Pimentel; nominations received from you and others; inquiries of individuals at other colleges, universities and organizations who understand the scope and mission of Luther; and advertising in The Chronicle of Higher Education, Inside Higher Ed and a number of other relevant websites. We expect the search committee will begin to narrow the candidate pool in late fall of 2018.
We are optimistic, and the search is off to a good start. We will update you again as we enter subsequent stages of the search process. Thank you for your support.
Soli Deo Gloria,
Bob Paulson, ‘78, Board Vice Chair; Chair, Presidential Search Committee
Wendy Davidson, ’92, Board Chair
