The URL is the web address that identifies a given page on a website. It might look something like this: http://www.luther.edu/style-guide/urls/
It's best to use meaningful names for your URLs. Multiple words should be separated by a hyphen ('-'). Generally, you want to include the main words and skip stop words such as "and" and "the."

http://www.luther.edu/classics/biblicallanguages/
http://www.luther.edu/health-physical-education/
http://www.luther.edu/classics/biblical-languages/
Note: URL should be all lowercase letters.
In very special cases, it may be necessary to create a vanity URL for websites. A common example is when the URL will be printed on a postcard or brochure.
Example: http://admissions.luther.edu.
