Food Education

Throughout the course of the year, Luther offers a wide range of food education classes to members of the campus community. Decorah is situated amidst a richly diverse agricultural landscape and residents have access to an abundance of locally produced seasonal produce. These events are meant to provide a time and space for faculty and staff from different parts of campus to spend time together while learning a new skill and eating something delicious. All participants of the CSA Rebate Program are required to participate in two opportunities over the course of the summer.

There are some classes offered at Luther over the Noon hour and also a wide range of classes offered down at the Oneota Community Coop Kitchen Classroom. You may even recognize a few instructors! Thanks to our staff and faculty who are sharing their skills this summer as part of the "CSA Series" at the Coop. Registration for classes held at Luther is via the linked google forms. Registration for the Coop classes is done via the Coop's website. Luther will provide 2 vouchers to each CSA Rebate Program participant that can be used for participation in the Coop's "CSA Series" classes. Please note that each household receives 2 vouchers to be used at 2 distinct classes. If you would like to attend a Coop CSA Series class with another member of your household, you may sign that person up separately and will need to pay the registration fee. Please also note that vouchers are only valid for classes that are part of the "CSA Series."
