The Community Garden offers a great way to learn more about gardening. Put your green thumbs to work in creating beautiful and bountiful harvests that can be enjoyed throughout the summer and well into fall and winter.
Please read following details carefully before submitting the
plot request form:
Three sizes of community garden plots are available. The full plot will be approximately 20'x20', half plots will measure 20'x10' and student plots will be 10'x10'. Students are strongly encouraged to share a student plot with 2 or more students.
Full plot: FREE
Half plot: FREE
Student plot: FREE
All garden plot orders must be submitted before May 15.
As with previous years, we will make plots available the third week of May.
All plots need to be planted by June 1, 2022 or they will be tilled under and planted with a cover crop.
We ask that community gardeners help maintain the pathways surrounding their plots. Student gardeners may assist with this by lining the main pathways of the garden with mulch.
It is very important to always close gates behind you when entering or leaving the garden to keep critters out.
There are a few tools provided to gardeners. You may need to bring some of your own.
Please no pets in the garden, the Luther College Gardens have been GAP certified by the USDA. In this certification we cannot allow pets in the gardens. Past the tool sheds are some nice trees to leash dogs at in the shade.
Be sure to read Policies and Procedures and the Waiver of Liability and Hold Harmless Agreement carefully before applying for a community garden plot.
