NCAA Student-Athlete Sexual and Interpersonal Violence Disclosure Policy

On April 27, 2021, the NCAA issued a revised Policy on Campus Sexual Assault, which applies to all NCAA members, including Luther College. Luther College, in conjunction with the American Rivers Conference, has created this Policy on Campus Sexual and Interpersonal Violence for Athletics to comply with the NCAA’s requirements, to further its commitment to campus health, safety, and fairness, and to prevent sexual and interpersonal violence. The NCAA’s policy places these obligations on member institutions for the academic year of 2022-2023: On an annual basis, collect information from all incoming, current, and transfer student-athletes regarding whether “their conduct resulted in an investigation, discipline through a Title IX proceeding, or a criminal conviction for sexual, interpersonal, or other acts of violence.” Furthermore, the College must take reasonable steps to confirm the information provided by prospective, continuing, and transfer student-athletes, and provide information to other member institutions that are attempting to confirm information received from transfer student-athletes.
