Free yoga for faculty and staff
Learn the basics of gentle yoga with Sonja Arneson-Ecklund of Sonja | Wellness & Yoga during this free lunchtime class for staff and faculty. Mondays from 12-12:45 p.m. in Hovde Lounge in the Library. We will release muscle tension and increase strength and flexibility while relaxing and rejuvenating the body and mind. Interlibrary Loan borrowing requests suspended July 3-9
Due to vacation, all interlibrary loan borrowing requests will be suspended July 3-9. Any requests submitted by Luther patrons by July 1 will be processed, and all interlibrary loan materials that arrive at the library July 3-9 will be processed and patrons notified as usual. Upcoming bargain barn sale
Another Luther Reuse Sale will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 16. The sale will take place in the Ashmore-Jewell barn, which is next to Baker Village. The sale includes a variety of items no longer needed by the college. View an inventory list starting July 12 at .
Diversity Center commitment to waste reduction
Sustainability would like to recognize the Diversity Center faculty/staff for their commitment to waste reduction. The Diversity Center is the first office on campus to eliminate the use of large individual waste baskets. To learn more about the mini hanging waste bin and how to request one, follow this link.
Campus water levels
On June 22-23, Facilities and Security worked together to evaluate how the forecasted river height might affect campus. On Sunday morning they evaluated the water level on campus, and related that level to Decorah’s forecasted gauge level. Based on the Flood Response document, they determined that no action would be required for sandbagging based on the forecasts. Closing valves on pipes through the dike caused water to back up by the baseball, softball and soccer fields.

ARTICLES, CREATIONS, HONORS, etc.
Laura Peterson was awarded a grant of $135,235 by The National Science Foundation for the project "Collaborative Research: Southern Hemisphere Processes and Global Climate Change: The Evolution of Late Miocene to Present Surface Ocean Conditions in the Southern Hemisphere." The funding will support paleoclimate research by Peterson and her students over three years.
Robert Shedinger presented a paper titled "Jesus and Jihad: The Politics of the Sacred and Christian-Muslim Dialogue" at the conference "Sacred Texts and Human Contexts" sponsored by the Hickey Center for Interfaith Studies and Dialogue at Nazareth College, Rochester, NY on June 23-25.

Thanks to everyone who made the Archives Leadership Institute such a success! Our special thanks to the teams in LIS, OFS, Dining Services, Facilities, Wellness, Security, Visual Media and Summer Programming. Full-time, 12-month position. General custodial responsibilities include overall appearance of assigned academic and resident hall building(s). Typical hours will be day hours, Monday through Friday. Donor Records Coordinator in Development Office
Donor records coordinator in the Development office needed to support fundraising efforts by creating all giving reports and assisting with the maintenance of giving records. Will also provide administrative support to the Director of Special Programs, including word processing, organizing event details, collating packets and preparing correspondence. This position calls for the ability to work extensively with numbers, strong attention to detail and organizational skills. High school diploma and at least one year of post-high school education required. One or more years of data maintenance and reporting experience necessary. Applicants must be proficient in the use of spreadsheets and word processing. Union cashier/ Book Shop staff position
Primary responsibilities include: count and balance previous day’s monetary transactions and resolve discrepancies; prepare daily deposits, and daily, monthly, and annual reports relating to monetary transactions. Book shop duties involve assisting with all aspects of the textbook department: ordering, receiving and invoicing. Attention to detail is necessary and some lifting is required. Must have high school diploma along with strong verbal and written communication skills, experience with Microsoft Office software and strong organizational skills.
