COMMUNITY

Help for Thornton family

We ask for the community's prayers for Rick Thornton and his sons Travis and Ross as their home was destroyed Dec. 20 by fire. Rick works as a carpenter for Luther's Trade Services. Thankfully no one was inside the home and Rick and his sons are all doing OK. They greatly appreciate the expressions of support they have already received.

The Office for College Ministries will set up an initial fund to receive donations. Donations and expressions of support can be sent through campus mail or by mail to Office for College Ministries, Luther College, 700 College Dr., Decorah, IA 52101. (Please note, donations are not tax deductible as they are being directed at an individual.) Checks can be made out to Luther College with "Thornton" in the memo line. Funds will be handled through the Luther College Student Congregation.

And finally…

One of the most glorious messes in the world is the mess created in the living room on Christmas day. Don't clean it up too quickly.
