And finally...

August is World Mutt-i-Grees Rescue Month, a celebration and educational movement that encourages prospective pet owners to adopt from animal shelters. Each year, shelters take in 8-10 million animals, many of which are happy, healthy and waiting for loving homes. When looking for a furry new addition to the family, consider fostering or adopting a pet from local shelters, such as the Humane Society of North East Iowa.
