COLLEGE OPERATIONS

Friendship families for international students

The Diversity Center is in need of friendship families for new international students arriving this fall. Faculty and staff will have the chance to open their homes and offer their families a fun new experience. Invite students for a meal, on recreational excursions or to attend events in the community. It is not a large obligation and can foster long-term relationships with students from another culture. Sign up online at: https://www2.luther.edu/diversity/programs/friendship-family/. Contact <dyerja01> with questions.

Campus trees

The college brought in an arborist to look at a number of distressed trees on campus. Some tested positive for oak wilt, and the Land Use Committee agrees that treatment is a high priority. In the coming weeks, diseased or at-risk trees will be treated, trees having damaged limbs will be trimmed and some trees that are too distressed to treat will be removed. Contact Facilities with any questions or for a copy of the report, <facilities> or 387-1146.

Norse Key password change

All Luther faculty, staff and students must change their Norse Key password prior to the start of the fall 2015 semester at norsekey.luther.edu. This change is necessary in order for faculty, staff and students to continue using Luther's classroom podium workstations, lab workstations, classroom workstations, systems and other IT resources through time. LIS is making a system-wide change in the underlying authentication system and this impacts all of Luther's academic and administration systems. Contact the LIS Technology Help Desk, 387-1000, with questions.
