The Institutional Planning and Board Affairs committee of the Board of Regents has endorsed the final draft of "Luther College Priorities 2016-18." It is available for viewing here.
Benefits Study Group information now on KATIE
Benefits Study Group information is now available on the KATIE website. Meeting materials and the presentation from the information sessions have been posted. Search for "Benefits Study Group" to view the documents. The page requires an enrollment key upon initial login; the enrollment key is "benefits2015." TIAA-CREF counseling sessions Jan. 5-7
A consultant from TIAA-CREF will be on campus for individual counseling sessions Jan. 5-7. Space is limited. Register online or call (800) 732-8353 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. All sessions will be held in the Financial Aid conference room in Main. Sessions are available at the following times:

Review Norse Card charges
Employees are reminded to regularly review their personal and departmental on-campus charging information. Staff can check their transaction history for the month or year for their personal account and any department account that they manage. Nottingham and Malta directors for 2017
The Dean's Office and the Center for Global Learning are pleased to announce the appointment of Kathy Reed and Martin Klammer as the 2017-18 Nottingham co-directors and the appointment of Kim Powell as the 2017 Malta director. We are grateful to all three individuals for providing leadership for these two important and longstanding off-campus programs.

New at luther.edu
Two new faculty profiles have been posted: Angela Kueny '02 talks about her research on understanding the cultural meanings of health and illness and on supporting nurses to improve care at all levels through evidence-based practice. Olga Michels talks about her research on environmental pollutant molecules that fluoresce (absorb and emit light), which could lead to removing certain pollutants from water.
Free Pilates classes during J-term
Join Bridgette Mitchell for a three-week Pilates session Jan. 11-25. This class is free for all faculty and staff to try with no obligation; registration is not required. Class is offered Mondays from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Regents Center dance studio. STOTT Pilates focuses on building strength from the inside out: exercises are based on five basic principles emphasizing breath, spinal alignment, and mobility. Equipment is provided, and modifications are offered for all skill levels.

Chapel
Worship services will not be held on campus during Christmas break. Chapel will resume Monday, Jan. 4, with the theme, "Light in the Darkness." The labyrinth will be set up for use in the CRH from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Fridays during January Term. Sunday morning worship and Focus resume on Jan. 10.

William Kuhlman performed in concert on Dec. 20 at the historic Anglican Church of St. Paul's in Valparaiso, Chile. Chilean resident John Walker '73 accompanied Kuhlman on Christmas carols on his "trompeta heraldo." Kuhlman's program included a set of Magnificats for organ by Bach and Michel Corrette, as well as Spanish carols by Norberto Guinaldo and pieces by Paul Manz, Jean Langlais and Claude Balbastre.
