Features about Ron Ferguson, assistant professor of sociology, and Kyle Fey, assistant professor of mathematics, have joined the 24 other articles on the Faculty Stories page. Ferguson talks about his research interests, including looking at social factors and how they relate to the success of African-American students in the field of biology. Fey also links his discipline to biology. "At Luther, I've transitioned to mainly working on problems that have applications in biology. But what has stayed constant is my desire to use math to have a better understanding of the world around us," he says.

Also, social work major Adam Morgan '17, talks about his experience as a transfer student. "Transferring from a community college, I was nervous coming to Luther. The experiences I've had here make me certain that my decision to transfer was the right one," he says.

Regional admissions counselor or assistant director of admissions  - Colorado: This position will be responsible for recruitment of students from Colorado, California and the western United States geographic area. This position will physically be located in the greater Denver area, with the candidate working from a home office. Duties will also include interviewing prospective students when on campus and assisting with other admissions-related activities/events as assigned. Extensive travel is required, and candidates must be able to work evenings and weekends when appropriate. Title will be based on the level of experience for the successful candidate.

Food and Farm fellow: The Center for Sustainable Communities is hiring a Food and Farm fellow for a 10 month, full-time, 40-hour/week position for Feb. 1-Nov. 30, 2017. Fellow is responsible for day-to-day operations at the college farm, including student supervision, management of the community garden and carrying out plans for the 2017 season. Additional responsibilities include marketing and communication, coordinating volunteer opportunities and tours, managing logistics for the Cafeteria to Community Program, implementing composting initiatives and coordinating food education classes. Qualified candidates must have a bachelor of arts or bachelor of science degree, at least one year relevant work experience and a passion for sustainable agriculture and food systems.  

Short-term Campus Programming Technician: This is a 40-hour per week position lasting approximately 18 months. The Campus Programming Technician offers technical support, collaborative planning with the Head Campus Programming Technician and quality customer service for all events in the CFL. Bachelor's or Associates Degree preferred. At least two years of experience working with audio systems and/or theatrical lighting; including design, set up, focusing and repair and multi-media resources as well as experience or skill in leadership, analytical problem solving skills, the ability to work independently and with a team required.
