HR update

Both Cologuard screenings and the regular routine colonoscopies are covered under the UMR health plan at 100 percent if it is billed as routine. If the Cologuard screening report comes back as something abnormal, the next colonoscopy may be billed as medical in nature and would be subject to the member's deductible and coinsurance. If both screenings are billed as routine, the plan would cover both at 100 percent, but this is rarely the scenario. Please call human resources, 387-1415, with questions.

And finally...

Answer to last week's trivia question: A river

Friday, Feb. 2, is Groundhog Day. From a Pennsylvania Dutch superstition, if the groundhog sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter. If he doesn't see his shadow, spring will arrive early. The largest Groundhog Day observance is in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. Punxsutawney Phil has predicted 103 winter forecasts and just 17 for early spring. However, according to Stormfax Alamanac's data, he's only been 39 percent accurate.
