A Remote Work Policy has been created and is now in effect. The purpose of the policy is to establish consistent guidelines and criteria to be used to determine, review and manage employment at a remote location. ELITE Winter Futsal Training registration open
Join Decorah United Soccer Club and Luther College Men's and Women's Soccer for ELITE Winter Futsal Training. ELITE Winter Futsal Training is open to beginners who want to experience the joy of playing indoor soccer while learning the basics, as well as experienced players looking to take their game to the next level by getting some extra training during the winter season. ELITE Winter Futsal Training is a nine-session training program with an emphasis on training the individual and how that individual fits into a small-sided setting (4v4 or 5v5). Training will include soccer-specific technical and agility/explosive training for 15 minutes as well as 45 minutes of small sided play. Visit http://www.neiaelitetraining.com/ to register. Dance Cardio class offered
The Wellness Department is excited to offer "Dance Cardio" class Wednesdays in January from noon-12:45 p.m., beginning Jan. 9. This four-week class is only $15 per employee. Register here.
CEPE faculty research fellowship: Call for applications
The Center for Ethics and Public Engagement invites applications from any tenure-track faculty for a two-year research fellowship. The fellowship provides one course release per year to allow the fellow time to conduct academic research or discipline-specific work related to CEPE's annual theme. Please see CEPE website for details and application instructions. Application deadline is Friday, Feb. 15, 2019.

Some call Ed Fallon's 3,100-mile trek from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C. a modern-day "Odyssey." Walk along with Fallon in his reflective memoir, "Marcher, Walker, Pilgrim," as he and dozens of others call attention to climate change. Like Odysseus, Fallon experiences loneliness, lost love, extreme pain, unpredictable weather and attempted mutiny. Todd Green delivered a framing speech and participated on a panel discussion on Islamophobia with Mehdi Hasan, Dalia Fahmy and Hatem Bazian at the Reviving the Islamic Spirit Convention in Toronto Dec. 22; delivered the keynote address for the 25th anniversary awards banquet for the Muslim Education Trust in Portland Dec. 8; and delivered the keynote address and received the Building Bridges Award at the annual awards banquet for the Islamic Resource Group in Minneapolis Nov. 10.
