Branding Workshop/Community Lunch/Service of Dedication: Wednesday, Aug. 28
All faculty and staff are invited to a branding workshop, a community lunch, and the annual Service of Dedication on Wednesday, Aug. 28. Please join us for a day of building community and celebrating the beginning of the new academic year.
The branding workshop will occur from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in the Center for Faith and Life Main Hall. The workshop will be facilitated by Hayley Berlent and Rachel Bauer from the Additive Agency. The workshop will guide faculty and staff in how the brand strategy may inform their individual and departmental work in the 2019-20 academic year and beyond.
The community lunch will occur from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in Peace Dining Room. The lunch is free of charge to all faculty, staff and emeriti.
The Service of Dedication will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the Center for Faith and Life Main Hall. Please note that the Service of Dedication has been changed from Thursday to Wednesday this year. President Ward will deliver remarks, and new faculty and staff will be introduced. Offices are allowed to close for the Service of Dedication so as many employees as possible can attend.

LyndaCampus upgrading to LinkedIn Learning
Luther currently subscribes to LyndaCampus. On Tuesday, Aug. 6, LyndaCampus will be upgraded to LinkedIn Learning. Once the upgrade is complete, when signing in, each individual will have the option to connect their LinkedIn account, if they so desire. Hazardous waste pick-up

Thrivent members invited to apply for Action Grant
College Ministries invites Luther staff and faculty who are Thrivent members to apply for a Thrivent Action Grant in support of the annual orientation service project. This year we are making fleece tied blankets for Lutheran World Relief, a collaborative project led by SAC Service & College Ministries. It would be great to have three to four Thrivent members apply for the $250 Action Grant to help purchase good scissors for cutting the materials. Position openings
Director of Marketing Operations (1.0 FTE): Join a growing marketing and communications team as a key department leader. The person in this role will design, build and manage the websites, systems, tools and analytics platforms that enable Luther College to effectively market to a variety of different audiences. A bachelor’s degree is required along with five years work experience in a marketing operations role and extensive experience overseeing the integration of digital marketing strategies deployed across channels such as email campaigns, social and web ads, landing pages and website development on open-source platforms such as Wordpress and/or Drupal. Higher education experience a plus.
Book Shop Staff/Union Cashier (1.0 FTE): Duties include the day-to-day operations of the bookstore, including cash register operation and customer service. Primary cashier duties include balancing cash drawers and preparing daily deposits. High school diploma or equivalent, retail experience and customer service skills are required. In addition, ability to lift and move 50 pounds and stand for extended periods is required.
