Book Available: 'America for Americans: A History of Xenophobia in the United States'
Hostility toward immigrants has featured prominently in American politics in recent years, but as Dr. Erika Lee demonstrates in "America for Americans: A History of Xenophobia in the United States," such hostility has been long-standing in the nation's history. Calling on us to confront this history, Dr. Lee sheds light on how xenophobia functions, why it works, and how it continues to find renewed life in the age of populism and the coronavirus. Join an upcoming book discussion (Jan. 5, Jan. 12, and Jan. 19 at 4 p.m.) to prepare for Dr. Lee's virtual presentation to the community at 7 p.m. Jan. 21. Sponsored by the Center for Ethics and Public Engagement (CEPE).

Orçun Selçuk spoke as part of CEPE's "pop-up programming" on Monday, Nov. 19, and delivered a helpful analysis of populism and presidential elections in the U.S. and abroad, including what we can expect going forward. Watch here.
