Visual and Performing Arts

All students–regardless of major–are invited to experience the visual and performing arts at Luther.

The goal of the Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) Department is to foster the development of your creative abilities. It accomplishes this by engaging you at the intersections of theory and practice in theatre, dance, and the visual arts.

You’ll learn to use adaptive, creative, and collaborative tools and gain the skills needed to navigate the challenges of a rapidly changing world. You’ll also examine, enact, embody, and develop new ideas and means of expression to enrich and inform any field of endeavor.

Luther’s Visual and Performing Arts Department is housed in the Center for the Arts building on campus. This helps promote artistic interaction. The Center for the Arts is known for the activity and energy of artists creating new work.
