Class of 1940 Spring 2016 Letter

Spring 2016

Dear Member of the Class of 1940,

Greetings from Luther College! I am writing this letter to you before the start of spring semester, and before January Term break, but activities and events for the coming months are definitely on the minds of faculty, students, and staff. For example, today’s Bulletin, published by the Campus Programming Office, reminds us to get our tickets for February’s Center Stage Series; attend the ELCA summer camp and spring career fairs, held in Dahl Centennial Union; and—for sophomore students—to act quickly and sign up, if interested, for the few remaining spots in Luther’s 2016-17 Nottingham Program. As always, there’s a lot going on at your Alma Mater.

I think you’ll enjoy reading about our students’ January experiences. You can find J-term course blogs at https://www.luther.edu/jtermblogs2016/ and regular Luther student blogs at https://www.luther.edu/admissions/student-blogs/. You may have noticed already that Luther’s homepage on the web has a new look—it’s been redesigned to interest and inform prospective students, and those who advise them. But you can still easily find web content that interests you by clicking the search button next to the “info for” drop-down box at the top right of the page. Type in the word “news,” click on the search button, and you’ll get all of the Luther news, for your reading pleasure.

This spring will be a busy and exciting time for the entire Luther community. Mark your calendar for Thursday, March 10, and throughout the day, if you're able, keep your eye on Luther’s website, Facebook, Instagram, and other social networks. With the help of one very curious gnome, the #luthergives16 event will be a fun-filled day of social media awesomeness. At this point it's still a mystery as to what exciting and fun opportunities will show up online, but we can guarantee that #luthergives16 will be a surprise you don’t want to miss.

Thank you to all who made gifts to Luther in 2015; we are grateful for this support. Best wishes for a great spring season!

Your gift. Every year. Put to work, right away, where it is needed most.

Each year over 9,000 alumni, parents, and friends support the Annual Fund with gifts from $5 to $75,000. Strong support from alumni helps Luther secure additional funds from foundations and corporations, and your gift each year helps us reach our goal of 27% alumni giving.

Your gift can boost the impact your class has on current students! Please use the enclosed envelope or visit givenow.luther.edu to show your support. Thank you!
