Dear Friend:

In the “Class Agent Handbook,” a tool provided by Luther’s Development Office that gives helpful guidelines and hints for writing these letters to you, one suggestion is I make a gift to Luther before writing this letter.  A good reminder, since I had not yet done so.  It also made me pause for a moment to reflect on why I make an annual donation.  Is it just so that I can write these letters with a “clear conscience”?  Is it because Joellyn and I need all the help we can get to move our class giving percentages in the right direction? The tax deduction?  Quite honestly, I had to read and reflect a little more to be sure.
