Class of 2001 Reunion - Homecoming 2011

Summer 2011

Dear Class of 2001,

Greetings!  Can you believe our ten-year reunion is coming up this fall?  It’s hard to believe it’s been ten years since graduating from Luther!  Over ten years since living in the dorms, meeting by the SPOs, eating in the caf, attending athletic events, and music concerts, eating at Mabe’s, and waiting for the Whippy Dip to open for the season.

Please join us as we celebrate our reunion on Saturday, October 15th, in the ballroom at Nob Hill, located at 2955 US Highway 52 (north of Decorah).  The celebration begins at 6:30 p.m. with a reception and taco bar to follow at 7:00 p.m.  Please make reservations in advance; the cost is $15 per person.  You can make your reservations here.

Our reunion this fall is during Luther’s Sesquicentennial Homecoming, October 14-16, 2011.  Please consider attending the Founders Day Festival Dinner, Friday, October 14th, the official celebration of the 150th anniversary of Luther College.  Plans are underway to transform the Regents Center for this very special event.  Reservations are required to attend. Please note that the reservations for the festival dinner are requested by Thursday, September 1st.  It’s amazing to think we have been a part of a college that is celebrating 150 years!

Other homecoming weekend events on Saturday include the parade at 10 a.m., football game at 1 p.m., and Athletic Hall of Fame ceremony at 5 p.m. which includes three classmates from our 2001 class, and the Flamingo Ball at 8 p.m.  On Sunday plan to attend the “Soli Deo Gloria” Festival Eucharist at 10 a.m. and the Sesquicentennial Homecoming Concert at 1:30 p.m.  Other weekend events include a Sesquicentennial History walk, concerts, and sporting events.  Check out the list of events on the website.

We would also encourage you to connect with your classmates through the Online Alumni Directory.  Please call the Luther Technology Help Desk at (563) 387-1000 if you need to set up a username and password.

Plans are underway to make our reunion memorable, and we hope as many as possible are able to attend.  We are also trying to put together pictures to share at our reunion.  Please email one of us any “Best” and/or “Worst” pictures from our years at Luther.  We are planning to give prizes during our class reception.  Hope to see you soon!
