Ann J. (Bolmgren) Wilbur, 1952

Ann J. (Bolmgren) Wilbur passed away Dec. 24, 2015, at age 82. She was born Jan. 31, 1933, to Elvera and Hugo Bolmgren in Minneapolis. After attending Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, she obtained B.A. and B.S.-EDU degrees from the University of Minnesota. Before marriage she taught special education in Osseo, Minn. On June 11, 1960, she and Dr. James M. Wilbur, Jr., were married in Minneapolis.

She is survived by her husband and their children: Kirsten Wilbur-Dodo ’83, Karen (Wilbur) Marts ’86, and Eric Wilbur; and her six grandchildren: Mitchell, Susanna, Anna Marie, Thomas, Keegan and Bailey.

She served on the city council, the planning and zoning board and was an active member of the League of Women Voters, served on the SMMA board, taught ESL for immigrants, and was a volunteer for Crosslines.

A memorial service and a celebration of Ann's was be held Dec. 30, 2015, at Messiah Lutheran Church under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
